back home again

Let me first apologize for my absence. When i found out that i did not make it into the fourth round of the 9Rules Network, i cried myself into oblivion. No, i’m kidding. Well, i didn’t make it into the fourth round, but i don’t really care. I don’t blog for the 9Rules Network. I blog for you, my beloved reader. Actually, i just completed the first big move in four years. I’m now back in the midwest.

How do i know, you may ask? Well, my first clue was that i crossed the Ohio river and saw a giant nuclear cooling tower. We love nuclear power and nuclear families here in the heartland. My second clue came a few minutes later, when i saw a giant billboard that read “Abortion stops a beating heart.” The midwest hates hearts, so there is a massive anti-heart campaign dedicated to stopping them and their tyrannical rule over us. Then i started to see lots of corn and some cows. Yup, i’m back. My final clue was when i got up for a bike ride this morning. Down in southern appalachia, a twenty-mile bike ride was the work of either you entire morning or your evening. But it was nothing more than a nice hour long pre-lunch jaunt here in the flatlands. I didn’t break a sweat and not once did i huff and puff. I’m either in much better shape than i realized or i’m back in the midwest. I’ve decided its the latter of the two.

So what does this mean for you, my dear reader? Well, it means a lot more than one post a week. I am now officially self-employed as a web developer/designer. And that means spending 5-8 hours in front of a computer. I like to procrastinate (just ask brownfemipower). And since i can no longer procrastinate by playing with kids or working in the garden (its apartment living for me for the summer), that means i’ll be biding my time writing lots of posts, reading lots of blogs, and leaving a lot more comments… like the good ol’ days).

For those of you who care, the summer pad is nice. There is a small dog park about two blocks away and Osil met her first new friend today (a four-monh-old black lab, crazy as all hell). And Queen B spends all day staring out the window at cattails (yes, a cat staring at cattails). She’s deathly afraid of actually going outside, but she loves to sit in window sill and look out there.

That’s about it for now. I mostly just wanted to apologize for my disappearance and to say that i will be back in full force. Starting…..now!

Oh, and if you are interested in hearing a very caffeinated and tired vegankid, stumbling over myself, you can go over to Addicted to Race and check out the interview that RachelS and i did with the folks over there talking about Ally Work.
