some things i learned/re-learned at the AMC:
- nubian and skyscraper may be the cutest couple ever (seriously, it was distracting)
- bfp, sky and nubian are far more amazing in real life than they are on the internet
- apparently Queer people don’t make media
- high school students can be absolutely awe-inspiring
- there are better uses for cans than the recycling bin (i’ll share more about this soon)
- nubian is a lying, racist, exclusionist who will one day be a very uncool parent
- someone needs to organize a conference and have nubian and sky on some panels, and have bfp speak some more too (they have things to say that need to be heard)
- there is A LOT about the war on immigrants that i did not know about
- college kids are still loud talkers
- art can help change the world (and has)
- i’m really bad at bowling. to prove it, we should play for money
- rad folks still seem to believe that rad bloggers don’t exist, especially rad bloggers of color
- white people need to get some new questions
- we have something that corporate media never will - the ability to talk face-to-face, lets not forget that
- there are a lot of cool folks in the midwest working on great projects
- its possible to visit three major cities in OH in one day and still make it to the third session of workshops
- gas station attendants are not cartographers (i know, it was a shock to me, too)
- poetry can breath life into the dead
- there are still places in this country where people trust other people

19. the fact that the ‘church’ where we stayed NEVER locks their doors, never locks up their computers or anything, and allows anyone to sleep there whenever is a testiment to there still being some trust in this country.

19. oh, yeah, i see your point regarding trust… definintely. i was amazed at the pure benevolence on the side of the church to provide free housing and keep its doors open at all times… that was a pleasant surprise.
but also, as you’ve mentioned in your other post, the trust in how all four of us met. online, not knowing whether we all were real/genuine like we pose online, you know what i mean… especially with the knowledge of how many sick creeps/stalkers/maniacs/haters, etc. are out there on the same internet…
and and how we met as if old friends, in a sense, and hit if off from the beginning… that was a miracle to me, too…
